Ingredients

  • 500 grams machhli (fish), saaf kiya hua aur tukde kiya hua (cleaned and cut into pieces)
  • 2 cups basmati chawal (basmati rice), dhoya hua aur bhigoya hua (washed and soaked)
  • 1 bada pyaaz (large onion), kata hua
  • 2 tamatar (tomatoes), kata hua
  • 1/2 cup dahi (yogurt)
  • 1/4 cup pudina (mint leaves), kata hua
  • 1/4 cup kothmir (coriander leaves), kata hua
  • 1/2 cup dahi (yogurt)
  • 1/2 chammach haldi powder (turmeric powder)
  • 1 chammach lal mirch powder (red chili powder)
  • 1 chammach dhaniya powder (coriander powder)
  • 1 chammach garam masala
  • 1/2 chammach zeera (cumin seeds)
  • 1 inch dalchini (cinnamon stick)
  • 4-5 laung (cloves)
  • 2-3 hari elaichi (green cardamom)
  • 1 badi elaichi (black cardamom)
  • 2-3 tejpatta (bay leaves)
  • 2-3 chammach tel (oil)
  • Namak (salt) to taste

Method / Preparation

Follow step-by-step instructions
  1. Ek bade bartan mein tel garam karein aur usme zeera, dalchini, laung, hari elaichi, badi elaichi, aur tejpatta daalein. Masale ko chabaane de taaki tel mein unki sugandh aaye.

  2. Pyaaz daalein aur halka sa brown hone tak pakayein.

  3. Tamatar daalein aur masale daalkar mix karein - haldi powder, lal mirch powder, dhaniya powder, aur namak.

  4. Machhli ko dahi ke saath milayein aur thodi der ke liye marinade karein.

  5. Dahi mein pudina aur kothmir ko mix karein.

  6. Ab ek bade bartan mein ek layer rice daalein, fir machhli, fir pudina-kothmir ka mixture, aur phir se rice.

  7. Ek layer masala daalein, phir se machhli, pudina-kothmir, aur phir se rice.

  8. Aakhri layer mein masala daalein, aur upar se garam masala sprinkle karein.

  9. Chawal ko machhli ke masalon ko dhakne ke liye upar se daalein.

  10. Dhakkan lagakar chawal ko dhimi aanch par pakayein, jab tak ki chawal pak jayein.

  11. Gas band kar dein aur Biryani ko 10 minutes tak dam par rakhein, taaki masale ache se mix ho jayein aur Biryani ka swaad badh jaye.

  12. Taiyar hai, swadisht Fish Biryani! Isse raita aur salad ke saath serve karein aur khushi se khayein!
